Nestled in the John Muir Wilderness,
this is one of the jewels of the Sierra. Isolated, quiet, peaceful, it offers relief from your soul-jarring urban existence.
Come join us here at the end of the road.
We have been informed by Southern California Edison that the lake will be drained by early or mid August, 2017, to allow necessary work on the dam. This means the ferry and boat rentals will be shut down at that time. As always, lake level forecasts are subject to change without notice. We don't have an opening date for the store, boat rentals and ferry yet, but we do not anticipate being open in time for Memorial Day with all the extra snowpack this year.
Youll not be stuck in the boonies when you come to Florence Lake. There are facilities and services available that include campgrounds, picnic area, store, boat rentals, horseback riding, and passenger ferry service to places around the lake, and the main connection to the mid-point of the John Muir Trail, the most popular hiking trail in the United States. Check us out; youll be glad you did!
